Want to Promote Innovation in Team Environment? Follow These Tips

Stephen King said, “Talent is never static. It’s always growing or dying.”

There are no truer words than these related to talent growth.

Whether you work in a profession like architecture, writer, painter, or you are an entrepreneur who is in search of policies and strategies to attract more customers. The key element that plays a vital role in every field is innovation. It is considered to be an important aspect of running a business smoothly and efficiently.

It is not necessary to take the complete load of innovation and creativity on yourself. You can engage your whole team to bring the results on the table.

If you are looking for ways to promote innovation in a team environment, following are some of the ways to do so.

Take a look

  1. Make them a part of the organization

Making your team an active part of the organization encourages innovation to a great extent. When an employee feels that he or she is given importance and is involved in the agendas and future plans of the organization, they will be able to give more innovative and creative ideas. Invite your team members and permit them to give suggestions and better ideas. Letting them know that you depend on them and their participation and ideas will lead to higher paychecks.

  1. Understand the significance of innovation

Innovation is very important in the organization because it helps the entrepreneurs to penetrate the markets quickly. It helps the organization to grow easily. Let the employees understand that it is their job to bring some creative and innovative ideas. Give them a reason to stretch their innovative wings.

  1. Organize brainstorming sessions

Tony Robbins once said, “If you talk about it, it’s a dream, if you envision it, it’s possible, but if you schedule it, it’s real.”

Talking about the need to get creative is not enough. Fix a day and time and put everyone together in a room. Let everyone’s ideas and suggestions start to flow. When different heads are put together in a single place, it encourages numerous suggestions. Relying on suggestion boxes is not always a good idea as it doesn’t lead to the creation of smart ideas. Employees feel more answerable in a face to face brainstorming session.

  1. Provide them training

Training the employees to be innovative is not like teaching them a specific range of skills. It is much more complicated than that. As an entrepreneur, you may face numerous challenges to create an innovative team who can deliver high performance. In such a case, bouncing the ideas around is not the solution, it is imperative to bring the hard science into play.

  1. Spying

Encourage your team members to take out some time to take a look at the prevailing competition. It will help in finding out how the competitors are carrying out the things like selling, advertising, logistics, etc.

  1. Boost interaction in the organization

In large organizations, it is easier for each department to get isolated which makes it hard for the employees to understand how the entire organization works. Your team can break out of their silos if the members of different departments are encouraged to come together with new and better ideas. All the departments can work together on the ideas to make the entire procedure effective.

  1. Look for alternates

Many entrepreneurs make use of tried and tested practices as they are safer options but they fail to understand that there are more successful methods to do things. It is always good to find alternatives and encourage the employees to do the same. Sometimes you don’t have an idea of how much difference employees can make by exploring alternative methods.

  1. Go out of the workplace

Getting stuck in the same workplace every day does not encourage creativity and innovation. Take your team out into new environments. It can be either a refreshing walk or lunch at a restaurant. It can help to get the creative juices flowing.

  1. Tolerate the mistakes made by employees

Some sort of risk-taking is always involved in new ideas and innovative thinking. Instead of being afraid of the risks, it is suggested to embrace it. If the employees take some risks and the things get wrong, don’t get irritated and let them know that you have tolerated the mistakes made by them. Don’t forget to encourage them to learn from their mistakes. If you criticize them for making mistakes, then they will be least interested to share their ideas in future because of the fear of failing again. This can lead to the wastage of some amazing ideas. Your focus should be on constructive criticism and ongoing learning. This way your team will be able to understand that by taking some cautiously calculated risk, their creative ideas can come to life again.

  1. Implement the ideas

According to an old Chinese proverb, “Man who waits for roast duck to fly into mouth must wait very, very long time.”

As an entrepreneur, if you don’t put your own head and heart into the organization, your team members will stop feeding you with creative and innovative ideas. Once you get an idea from your team, execute it as soon as possible if you think it is a suitable one and can help your organization to grow. If you don’t do so, the flow of creativity will stop soon.

Making your organization an innovative one need a specific kind of culture. But what can kind of culture can make that possible?

For example, at Bell labs, Mervin Kelly was the man who was responsible for creativity in the company.

According to him, to create a successful innovative organization, a group of talented people is required to foster an exchange of ideas.

In addition, there were many other elements involved like:

  • Each employee was motivated to initiate his or her own project with full independence but by keeping in mind the practical approach.
  • Managers of the company would go years, without getting an update related to a specific project. They encouraged their employees to learn by trying on their own. In the end, outstanding and exceptional results were achieved by them.
  • Each worker was encouraged to get together with other people and to form teams with engineers, chemists, etc.
  • Employees were given the freedom to choose their teams.
  • Bell labs were known as a lab with a factory underground as it was not merely a theoretical lab. Bell Labs have a place to experiment with building things and trying as many times as possible to form a prototype.

I wish, I could give them negative ratings, Very Poor service. You will be replied in seconds when u have to pay money but will take hours if you have queries regarding your work. You have to ping them several times to get your work within time. I received my work bit late and if I asked about the delay, they started comparing Indian time with Australian time. They are not University level work providers. Just want to alert others, there are many better options on internet for your work, but don't give any work to them.
